A collection of tables made of Murano Glass and solid Mahogany wood.
The Venetian lagoon is studded with 123 islands, whether hidden or tentatively exposed beyond the water’s unassuming surface. Each island tells a story of an ancient treasure buried beneath the sands of time; San Giorgio, Poveglia, Mazorbo are some of their evocative names.
Murrina colored glass rods are posed horizontally one next to the other and fused to form a stratified layered surface. A sandblasted silhouette, defined through a laser-cut mask uncovers layers of glass to delicately unveil patterns and expressions of local motives.
Murrine are a centuries old glass production method from Murano island. This project explores new methods of production and products typologies for innovation within a traditional context.
ISOLE collection is the result of a two years research focusing on traditional Murano Glass production and contemporary innovative digital production methods.
